Idalia looked out across her land, the wind blowing through her snow white fur. She took a deep breath and tilted her head up towards the sun, basking the the bright oranges, yellows, and reds of the early morning sunrise. The cold crisp air circling around her tail with a slight force made her open her eyes and look around until she realized the air was her little purple spirits. She smiled faintly at the memory she had buried deep in her mind associated with her little buddies. Sighing, She decided to start walking slowly through her lands, checking for anyone that didn't belong while making her way towards the body of water that connects the pack to the others.

A silver eagle glided overhead, high in the sky. The sunlight illuminated its feathers, causing it to practically glow. It cried, it's kreeee traveling on the wind. It was looking for a meal, it's sharp eyes watching plains below and the wolves that traveled through it. Cerridwen glanced up at the bird, far too high in the sky to give any care for. She was out looking for something to do. Hunting had been the first thing she had done in the morning, bringing a rabbit and a deer back to camp for the rest of the pack. A proper lady made sure to tend to her responsibilities before she allowed herself free time. If that's what she could consider this, free time. She didn't know what to do with herself but she deserved to take a break. She worked tirelessly to provide for her pack, setting the perfect example for others to follow, at least in her own opinion. Perhaps she could look for some pretty flowers to decorate the fighters den with.

Idalia heard the kree of the eagle but ignored it, knowing that the animals passed through the area quite often. She continued walking through the flatland until she saw Cerridwen in the near distance. She smiled warmly, flicked her tail and walked over. As she got closer, she could tell that the femme was lost in thought and sat down next to her. "You know... taking a break isn't a bad thing. The pack still sees you as a shining example." She said, almost as if she could tell what the wolf was thinking. Her spirits circled around Cerridwen, as if to say hello on their own, shining a beautiful purple glow onto the wolf's pelt. "Things have been quiet lately. Would you like to join me for a lap around the border?" She looked up at the sunrise again, closing her eyes once more while inhaling the fresh air.

Idalia surprised her, which was hard to do considering they lived in open, rolling plains. She had been lost in thought, debating what to do. If her mother had been there she would have been lecturing Cerridwen to do more, work harder, to become the best, rise in the ranks. But her mother wasn't there and she had already caught enough prey to feed the pack. The sun's unforgiving heat was a curse at times. She couldn't hunt for tomorrow because the sun would cook the food, causing it to rot faster.
Cerridwen smiled at Idalia, giving the alphess a bright smile. Some could call Cerridwen a suck up but she just ignored those mutters. What was wrong with respecting those in power and ensuring they notice you? Cerridwen didn't understand how the others didn't see the intelligence in it. If the alpha respected and acknowledged you, you would have more power and sway.
"Idalia your praise is too high. I simply do the best I can do." Her voice was light as she put on a modest air. The fire spirits danced around her in the air. Cerridwen was intrigued by them. Idalia didn't have any magic yet she had this magnificent power.
"I would love to patrol with you. Perhaps we could find some wildflowers along the way to decorate camp." Cerridwen loved beautiful things and the camp could use some work.

Idalia gave a small smirk and started walking again. She was well aware of Cerridwens intentions but she didn't mind it. It kept the pack fed and the camp looking nice. Which in all honesty was too much for her to do by herself, so it was nice to have the help. "I think finding some wildflowers would be lovely. Pets, would you fly out a bit and see where we could find some?" She turned her attention towards her glowing spirits. The purple glow that they let off got a slight bit brighter as her necklace took over, giving them a slight bit of freedom for a short time.
Idalia's memories around how she came to acquire her pets were quite fuzzy. The last thing she remembered was being poisoned by her mate and watching him harm her babies as she blacked out. When she woke up, the pups and her mate were gone. The only things that were left were blood, the orb she wears around her neck, and her fire spirits.
She shook the memories away and focused deeply for a moment to lock them in the pits of her mind. She didn't need to sink back into that hole again. It was never easy getting back out. "How've you been lately dear?" She asked, almost desperate to change the thought process going on in her mind while she waited for her lovelies to return.

Cerridwen followed Idalia, giving her alphesss a pleasant smile as she watched the orbs of fire dart away. So odd, for Idalia to have no witchblood in her veins yet still be able to control and summon the fire orbs. They were almost like elementals, something her mother had dabbled in.
It was still early in the morning, the sun's rays chasing away the cold night air. It would soon be warm on the plains with little shade to be found. The ocean of grass and vegetation spread out in front of them, waving in the slight wind. Blistering Sunrise was a beautiful place if one could survive the oppressive heat in the summer. Cerridwen liked to retreat to the wooded part of their territory when the sun was at it's worst. There were some perks to sharing a mountain with Northern Sea, the shade being just one of them.
Idalia's words pulled Cerridwen out of her own thoughts. "I have been well. Nothing to complain about really at all." Proper ladies didn't complain. "I'm honestly a bit curious about the other packs. What they are like and their numbers. Do you know anything about them?" Information could be just as deadly as claws and fangs.

Idalia laughed lightly. "Well we're set to have a meeting soon with the other packs at the lake we share with everyone. So I may not know the answer to that yet, but I will know soon." She said, a small gleam in her eyes. She never really had any intention of harming any other pack but she would like to branch out her territory to include some of the mountains so she could travel up to the tops to see the sunrise.

"hmm" Cerridwen hummed, letting her thoughts wonder. Her little Harrow was out there in another pack, not that she really cared. The little thing showed no promise, no powers, no use. So Cerridwen got rid of the pup, leaving the small scrap of fur in the wilderness, if nature killed her then so be it. Cerridwen had thought her child dead until her sister had spied it in another pack. Bellathowin had a knack for finding things out, something that Cerridwen appreciated greatly.
"Well I'm interested in seeing what they are like. I'm sure we will have nothing to worry about." Cerridwen was prideful, a trait that wasn't always the best. "How are you doing?" Cerridwen cursed herself, she didn't return the question soon enough. When asked how one was doing a proper lady would always return the question. Her mother would have killed her.

Idalia sighed. "I'm fine." She said, obviously not interested in talking about her own feelings. She looked at the pile they had gathered and nodded. "I think this is enough for now. Let's take everything back to the hut and put them away." She picked up the pile and started walking back to the hut, her familiars coming up behind lifting up more leaves of peppermint.

Cerridwen watched Idalia with curious eyes as as the alphess sighed. It seemed she wasn't exactly fine but it would be rude to inquire further. Cerridwen was definitely not rude so she let the issue be. "We can always get more if we need to." They had collected a sizable amount of flowers. If they dried them and pressed them the flowers could last for a long time. Cerridwen smiled as she gathered her pile. She had taken great care to dig some of the plants up by their roots. Those plants she would plant around camp, encouraging them to grow. Pressed flowers were gorgeous but flowers growing in camp would be even better!

Idalia nodded without speaking. She walked into the witches hut and started the process of drying and pressing the leaves to make sure they stay useful. "Will you kindly plant those while I get these finished?" She asked, wanting to be alone with her thoughts for a moment.
